Ecolabel – E.M.A.S.

The European Ecolabel mark is a voluntary program, established in 1992 to encourage businesses to market products and services environmentally friendly. Products and services awarded the Ecolabel carry the flower logo, allowing consumers – including public and private purchasers – to identify them easily.

Today the EU Ecolabel mark covers a wide range of products and services that include cleaning products, appliances, paper products, textiles, products for the home and garden, lubricants and services, as well as tourist accommodation. The eco-labeling is the only way to certify a product as “green.”

The EU Ecolabel is the world’s most widely recognised environmental label. EU Ecolabelled products and services fulfil strict environmental criteria based on the entire life cycle of the product or service.
